⬐ dylan604I like how the title suggests they are filmed, yet the poster image displayed when the link is followed clearly shows a digital camera that does not use film. Not sure why the key word "How" was dropped from the submitted title.
⬐ toxikThe dropping of “how” is HN’s helpful title mangler at work.⬐ dang⬐ chromatonOk, I've fixed it to drop fewer hows and restored the correct title above.⬐ idonotknowwhyVery annoying, I thought I'd simply be watching time lapsed videos of mushroomsAt 9 seconds in you can see film cameras.⬐ dylan604⬐ 0-_-0I'm aware of the contents of the video. I have been a fan of Mr. Schwartzberg for quite some time.Kind of missed the point: Should of picked a better poster frame
⬐ chromatonOK, I understand. What do you call films made with digital cameras?⬐ elihuAs others have said you can call them movies or videos, but I think the actual question is what's the verb to use for making a digital movie? "How Mushroom Time-Lapses Are Movied" sound strange. "How Mushroom Time-Lapses Are Videoed" isn't too bad.⬐ app4softMovie, etc.[0]⬐ 0-_-0⬐ KaibeezyYour link says:However, the act of shooting images with other visual media, such as with a digital camera, is still called "filming" and the resulting works often called "films" as interchangeable to "movies," despite not being shot on film.
movies? videos?footage —> clip
⬐ dylan604This was my point with the submitted title. As written, it was a declaritive statement saying "are filmed". If it used the actual title of "how they are filmed", I would not have an issue. If the images you are acquiring on a digital camera are to be used in a film project, then I'm okay with calling that "filming" as that's just the industry vernacular. Even the project itself being a film shot digitally is still a "film project". nuances, pet peeves, etc.
