Check out Vi Hart, mathemusician with both a youtube channel and a gitlab

Music example:

Software example: I thought her 50 fizzbuzzes were fun, and at least one of them is even vaguely musical? Clearly she should be hired ;-)

(you can run it here, might be slow to start up: https://hub.mybinder.turing.ac.uk/user/quasiben-fiftyfizzbuz... )

This is amazing and I still don't understand it. If you liked this you will very likely enjoy Hart's magnum opus, "Twelve Tones", which they worked on for a year and is the best thing I've ever seen about music theory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4niz8TfY794

Vi Hart has an excellent video about music written with all twelve tones of the octave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4niz8TfY794

Great post, though I'm missing a definition of how do they mathematically define segregation. (Checking from the JS code, it seems to be an average over the shapes of the proportion of neighbor shapes which are like them.)

Also, the title confused me a bit as I expected something related to Flatland.

By the way, one of the two people behind this is Vi Hart, which has also made some brilliant videos featuring math, music, and brilliant silliness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4niz8TfY794&list=UUOGeU-1Fig...
